How to create an OKX Wallet

1. Switch to Wallet at the top of the OKX app.
2. Create a new wallet (or import an existing one).
3. Back up the seed phrase, or use the cloud / device backup option, and complete the check.
4. Set a wallet password. Your addresses on each chain are now ready.

Keeping your seed phrase safe, and what if it's lost

The seed phrase is a list of words. Whoever has it controls everything in the wallet.

• Write it on paper and store it safely; two copies in separate places is fine.
• No screenshots, no cloud notes, never share it, including with anyone claiming to be support.
• If it's lost: while the wallet still opens on your phone, back it up again right away and move funds to a new wallet. If both the device and phrase are gone, the funds can't be recovered.

Joining airdrops without getting drained

Airdrops are free tokens projects give early users, usually for on-chain activity, points programs or exchange campaigns.

Four anti-phishing rules

1. Use official sources only: the project site and official socials, never links from DMs or groups.
2. Read every approval: if a signature asks for unlimited allowance or to move all assets, reject it.
3. Use a separate wallet: keep savings in one wallet and do airdrop tasks from another.
4. Revoke old approvals: clear approvals you no longer use in the wallet's approval manager.

“Pay a fee to receive your airdrop” is always a scam.

Moving crypto from the exchange to your wallet

• Match the network: the withdrawal network must match the chain of your wallet address, or funds may be lost.
• Test small first: send a small amount, confirm it arrives, then send the rest.
• Check the first and last characters: watch for clipboard malware and look-alike address poisoning; don't copy addresses from history.
• Keep gas: hold some of the chain's native coin to pay transaction fees.
